How we will use this blog
I got the idea for this class blog from an article/post I read online here: http://educationambassador.com/resources/entry/ideas-for-teaching-in-a-one-tablet-classroom-3-assign-a-class-historian
The point of the article was how to best use a single tablet in a classroom. In my situation though, almost all of my students have either a smartphone (android phone or iPhone) or a tablet. So I think it would be even easier in my situation.
I am looking forward to trying it.
Quotes from the article:
"Each day give a new student the job of collecting evidence of what the class is learning and how they are doing the learning. Students should feel free to collect videos, photos, audio samples as well as digital examples of student work."
All of these could then be posted to the blog for that day. Videos could be uploaded first to youtube and then embedded in a blog post by the designated student author/"historian" for that day. :)))
